Japanese Drumming workshops to learn how to connect your body and mind with this holistic art form
R3’s director has performed Japanese drumming since 2002. Beyond a connection to Japanese Canadian heritage, it is the perfect vessel to express identity, culture, spirit, energy and camaraderie. Workshops provide an opportunity for anyone to experience taiko. You don’t need any past experience to try! They can be geared to any age or ability range, and are designed to introduce the joy of taiko to any demographic.
Contemporary Japanese drumming performance for ambient or small space
Japanese drumming is most commonly viewed as large group performances. The experience is very powerful! However, the beauty of taiko can also be enjoyed on a smaller scale. R3 offers ambient music of Japanese instruments designed to provide beautiful background melodies for your events.
